You can’t get through there, mate!

A LORRY belonging to coal merchants Parson Bros and Snape ran away and crashed into the side of a Queensway house. It began its journey at the top of Melbourne Road. That was in 1963.

    Yer kno! you not often wrong’ but cant remember any of them???? I know there is name for that style of house? I just w’ost ever? but me just thinking Melbourne Rd? was all “Red brick” Hey you well may be right on an area of’Melbourne’ I have forgotten! Ay up it happens? Me been away for ages & soooooo! close to 70 now’ & you & others probably older & still sharp as “Pin” me??? OK just dont remember them houses in Melbourne! mebbe some? Bet you right! I cant remember?

    The house style is “Cornish” (I have no idea as to why!!)
    And those style houses were around the middle and top greens (now car parking!)
    At a guess I’d say that lorry is between 51 and 53 Melbourne Road on the middle green. My dad has told me about the runaway coal lorry accident before.
    They have the same style on Canberra Crescent as well
