Winn, Harriet – Served Royalty for many years

MISS Harriett Winn, was the sister of St Catherine’s Road monumental mason, William Winn.

She was in service to Queen Victoria at Osborne House, Isle of Wight, succeeding her elder sister Ellen in 1894.

She was then transferred to Buckingham Palace where she remained for the Queen’s reign and also for that of King Edward VII.

She also served King George V and Queen Mary.

Miss Winn retired in 1930 and was awarded the medal for long and faithful service. She also received three commemorative decorations.

She died at Highgate nursing home, London and was buried in Bottesford churchyard.
