Win Up to £2,023 in the St Barnabas Summer Raffle

July 2, 2023 by Grantham Matters Leave a Comment

This summer, you could win up to £2,023 in the St Barnabas Summer Raffle, with tickets now available for just £1 each via the charity’s website and in-store at selected charity shops around Lincolnshire.

The top prize of £2,023 will be won by one lucky player, with further prizes of £500, £250, £100 and 5 prizes of £50 up for grabs.

This annual raffle gives supporters a chance to win incredible cash prizes whilst supporting a local charity that cares for people in their community living with a life-limiting or terminal illness.

One regular raffle and lottery player is Diane Taylor from Horncastle, who has supported St Barnabas Hospice ever since her mother, Rose, received the charity’s free care some years ago.

Rose received a breast cancer diagnosis in 1990, which was treated through a mastectomy and radiotherapy. She seemed to be recovered, but in 2009 the family was given the devastating news that she had developed secondary cancer, which is when she approached St Barnabas for support.

Diane said: “When hospital treatment was no longer effective, she received care in her own home from St Barnabas nurses. They were truly amazing in looking after her as well as supporting the whole family.

“After a few years of care at home, Mum went into the Inpatient Unit in Lincoln to receive care around the clock. My Aunt Mabel received wonderful care there before her death in 2012, so Mum knew she’d be in good hands.

“The nurses were so kind, always making sure Mum was comfortable and had everything she wanted. I was able to stay with her for as long as I liked, day and night. Being able to spend that much time together meant the world to us. She passed away in October 2015, aged 86. I still miss her terribly, but I know she received the best possible care, thanks to St Barnabas.

“That is why I support the Hospice. Will you join me in playing the Summer Raffle?”

Entries will close on Friday, 29th September, with the lucky winners drawn on Wednesday, 4th October. If you have won, you will be notified by the St Barnabas team, so there’s no need to check numbers or make a claim.

Diane continued: “We are just one family of thousands around Lincolnshire whose lives are touched by St Barnabas each year.

“I am so grateful to the doctors and nurses that looked after Mum and Mabel. I wish for everyone who needs it to get the same love and support we received. You can help make this happen by playing the Summer Raffle.

“Fingers crossed; you might win big!”

The St Barnabas raffle offers up to £2,023 to be won and is now open, with tickets available to buy for just £1 at https://stbarnabashospice.co.uk/lottery/raffle/.

Participants must be aged 18 or over and a Great Britain resident. For any questions, call the lottery department on 01522 546 500, open Tuesday – Friday, 9.30am to 2.30pm.
