Iconic! is the right description! & too think that big old sign with the clock’ totally “binned” I suppose?along with that building I remember soooo! well! In fact in my mind its still there! but sure it was demolished in my time up there? I cannot remember a B&Q as in story! Fabulous photo! & thanks! It brings back memories! Sorry cant resist ! Used to have to hide in the complex there if I thought “Manthinker” was gonna show off I had to scurry if he had seen me! ! I was peace & save the whale! Nah think he has gone now! Haven’t read anything that he mite av! Oh well! hope he is ok! Wanna sign out “Biggles” but givin in then aint I Oh?? just did do!
Does The Fly boy think I have gone….Oh no not a bit of it, just waiting to hear what you have to chunter about, but in truth I have to agree with “Flying Officer Biggles” that the building was iconic and it’s a shame that those in charge did not give its future a little more thought, it could have been turned into something other than a pile of rubble. What’s there in its place?………a large ugly tin shed, give a big round of applause to Grantham planning department.
Glad to hear the old boy has missed me, ha ha You peace and save the whale, you’ll be telling us that you go to Chapel on a Sunday next!! I mustn’t mock as it is becoming the Season of Goodwill, and so I’m going to be kind to the old boy and I might even wish him a Merry Christmas near to the 25 th who knows????
Got a bit of a lump in my throat? Ah no bit of sick I think! 🙂
