It’s actually 1976. The occasion would have been the marking of the occasion when the majority of the Boarding House moved to Gonerby House.
The bearded gent is Mick Runnalls, the House Master – great guy! To his left is Graham Shorrock, a legendary figure in King’s history and only fairly recently retired; Miss Morpeth was the matron. As for the others, too many to mention – I’m in there somewhere!

It does look like School House boarders 75-76 year. I joined King’s as a boarder in 1976 and most of the faces are familiar bar one row of Upper sixers!
These photos were taken annually, the move to Gonerby house actually happened in Summer 1977.
