A diverse range of live entertainment offering something to suit all tastes is lined up for the Autumn season at South Kesteven District Council Arts Centres.
Brochures for the upcoming programmes at the Guildhall, Grantham, and Stamford Arts Centre are now available online or as a printed copy to pick up from each venue.
As always, the programme, which covers September to January, boasts varied events for all ages including workshops, comedy, poetry, music and theatre performances.
Cllr Rosemary Trollope-Bellew, SKDC Cabinet Member for Culture and Visitor Economy, said: “After what was a fantastic summer for our arts venues, I am delighted to see the wide variety of entertainment continuing into the Autumn.
“As the arts industry continues to recover from the impact of two difficult years, we look forward to welcoming new and returning audience members.”
In Grantham, a 21st century reimagining of Beauty And The Beast is being performed by the Chantry Dance. The performances on September 16th and 17th will feature contemporary dance, ballet and circus.
There are also performances of The Ghost Train by St Peter’s Hill Players in October; a youth edition of Cinderella performed by New Youth Theatre in November; and Soul Train steams into Grantham with musical tributes to Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gay, Aretha Franklin and more.
Regular events also return such as Disco Toddlers, a chance for preschoolers to burn off energy; and Funhouse Comedy Club in the ballroom aimed at over-14s.
Stamford Arts Centre highlights include performances of Wilkie Collins’ classic thriller, The Woman in White as well as Eugène Ionesco’s The Lesson, a dark comedy with inclusive captioning technology to ensure all performances are accessible for deaf and hard of hearing people.
There is the opportunity to delve into the history of Stamford with talks by local historian Phillipa Massey throughout the season.
Music comes from the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment who will open their classical season in October. Joining them the following month will be Tom McGuire and the Brassholes, a funk powerhouse from Glasgow.

To welcome back The Met Opera Season, Stamford Arts Centre boasts satellite screenings including National Theatre Live. September also marks the return of music and comedy events in its Cellar Bar.
Looking ahead to Christmas, both venues are again presenting pantomimes in association with Polka Dot Performances. The Guildhall has hair-raising performances of Rapunzel – A Tangled Tale from December 3rd- 31st, while Stamford has a thrilling magic carpet ride with Aladdin is on from January 6th-23rd.
