July 15, 2017 by Grantham Matters 2 Comments

1986 Costcutter, Winchester Road, being built by the Patel brothers. It became Macs, and was later taken over by Nisa and called One Stop which was finally taken over by Tesco Express. From Vaughan Hardy.

I remember this and also the field before any of the houses were built on that side of Barrowby Gate.

I wonder what happened to Keane Construction? They built most of the Patel boy’s places! I dunno maybe still going strong? up there in “G” seemed too think “big fella” (Sean) got dragged back too Eire! Patels helped a lot of Grantham folk? & often got shafted’ by folk they trusted! (only once mind they had good memories) are they still in Grantham? must be?
