ANGLIAN Water has closed Barrowby Road for two days to repair a leaking main.
The stretch from The Muddle Go Nowhere roundabout to the A1 slip road is affected.
Antony Innes, from Anglian Water, said: “We know this work will cause disruption to customers and commuters in the area, and we’re really sorry for that.
“We’ve been aware of the leak for several weeks and have tried to carry out repairs without fully closing the road. Unfortunately, the location of the leak means we cannot do this with two way traffic lights alone and we need to close both lanes.
“However, we’d like to reassure customers that we’ll be doing all we can to finish this repair as quickly as possible to keep disruption to a minimum.
“We will always look to avoid closing such a busy road, but we need to repair the main now, before the problem worsens and affects customers’ supplies.”
Traffic will be diverted along Harlaxton Road, and the A1 to the A52 sliproad at Barrowby. All traffic from Nottingham will go along the A1 and on to Harlaxton Road.
