The real Artichokes Inn

The Artichokes Inn, Swinegate is pictured below as it looked in 1890. This was NOT the same building as half-timbered Artichokes House, far right, which has always been a shop.

Between the pub and the archway l;eading to Artichokes Yard.The pub was demolished in the 1930s and some 30 years later, a car showroom was errected in its place.
