Workmen have been seen inspecting the site of the new Aldi store in Grantham, this week.
The new Aldi store, about to be built on the corner of Trent Road and Harlaxton Road, was approved by SKDC’s planning committee last July.
The supermarket chain plans to move from its South Parade home since 1995, to much larger premises to the west of the town takes a step forward this week, although work had originally been planned to start last month.
A spokesman said: “We plan to open the store in early 2022. This will create up to 10 additional jobs and enable local people to shop and save closer to home.
“The current Aldi at South Parade is very popular. However, there is no potential to expand the site and bring it in line with Aldi’s latest openings and it is therefore necessary to relocate.
“The proposed store will accommodate the full range of Aldi goods and enhance the customer experience through improved facilities, including customer toilets.”
