Police have charged Lee Sentance (45) of Grantham with drugs, theft, and burglary offences thanks to a coordinated effort by officers and the local CCTV team.
Officers were called to reports of burglaries at two businesses in Grantham on 30 August, and immediately dispatched Response officers. Officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team provided additional support, along with the CCTV operators at South Kesteven District Council.
The first report related to a burglary at The Savoy Cinema at 4.23am, where 159 bags of sweets and nine tubes of Pringles worth £482.55 were reported stolen. The second was a report of an attempted burglary at St John’s Medical Centre on the same day.
Following a number of lines of inquiry, Sentance, of Harrowby Road, Grantham, was arrested at 10.15am in Cambridge Street, Grantham, by Response officers.
He was later interviewed, and charged and remanded into custody to appear at court.
He was also charged with another count of burglary, reported to have taken place on 16 May at CEX in Grantham, where a language translator, in-ear earbuds, and a Samsung D22 to the value of £460 was stolen, and theft from a motor vehicle. That related to an incident reported to have taken place on 28 August in Inner Street, Grantham, where a handbag was reported stolen.
Two further charges, one for possession of class A drugs cocaine, and one for going equipped, were also made.
