TWO Rogue Trader incidents in the Grantham were reported to Lincolnshire Police on Monday.
In the first incident, at least two males seen in a vehicle who knocked at a householder’s door asking if they could clean the driveway or clear the guttering?
A white Fiat van with Irish vehicle registration mark 07-MO-4915 was seen. (Incident 230 of 03/11/14)
The same day, three men knocked at the door of a property in the area of Farndale Crescent, Grantham, and offered to carry out work on the driveway and the roof of the house.
Only half the work was carried out before they packed away to leave.
The householder therefore refused to pay in full. The mens said they would return and demand money(Incident 313 of 03/11/14).
The men were all dark haired, stocky build with Irish accents. All were well dressed but not wearing a work uniform. The were in a light blue transit van
A police spokesman said: “Rogue traders and pushy doorstep sellers con vulnerable people by overcharging, charging for unnecessary work, damaging property deliberately, leaving work unfinished, use intimidating behaviour to receive payment (eg taking a customer to an ATM for payment).”
