Remember these butchers?

Yvonne Parker says: My Grandfather’s butcher’s shop at number 39 Watergate which was demolished along with all the other shops on that side.  Taken in about 1958. The whitewashed wall of his slaughter house can still be picked out behind the car park.

    Great bit of history Yvonne & a photo with it fantastic! I was around Grantham : but from the villages near town! was in Grantham everyday from about 6 years old! But always thought only one Slaughter house for beast’ on Dysart Road , Topps Waudby Halls Watchorn sorta set up! notice I missed out Watkins! think they was absent for a reason, Yvonne! they knew? & very independent but very very successful hard working family that just tipped in now & then! Hard working lot them “Watto’s” Lovin you foto!
