Thankyou to the wonderful people of our town who have made being Deputy Mayor of Grantham such an experience & to all who work tirelessly behind the scenes for our community & environment.
I look forward to seeing Grantham develop under a new Town Council this year & will do my best to make the process seamless.
As an Independent District Councillor it has been hugely challenging as we work together & cross party to improve services inherited from previous administration. We have also had to contend with an inherited decision by Lincolnshire County Council regarding the purple lidded bins rollout which will no doubt require more support until things settle.
It has been a pleasure working cross party and with officers to get the best for our community, and, helping newer members on the council.
As our budget tightens there will be more challenges ahead. I believe Grantham, with its location, transport links and remarkable history, has so much untapped potential. I’ve been happy to support any initiatives that improve our town and was pleased to be involved in the Christmas plans last year. We need to continue efforts on protecting and growing our market. Thanks to all who took part in our survey.
Parking charge changes will be subject to consultation this year. The current proposal will see at least an hour’s free parking in every Grantham skdc run car park with central car parking being 2 hours free.
This should help alleviate parking issues around our schools, which I am still looking at.
Housing issues and the cost of living issues are affecting so many people however.
We created a new committee to specifically focus on Housing.
There is Cost of Living help for some available but I’m concerned people are not asking for it.
