One of the first runs I got from Brian Dable ( first class guy) was out of Reads cans to the Co-Op canning plant up at Montrose in Scotland. When I foolishly asked George Horton ( another first class bloke) where Montrose was his reply was “ At the end of the A1” with that I bought my first road map. I used to run cans into Petfoods at Melton, another transport outfit was Machins, rember them well, but they went bust I believe sometime in the eighties if my memory serves me correctly.
