Mayor welcomes M&S Food to Grantham

November 26, 2014 by Grantham Matters Leave a Comment

Dean Law, Store Manager, officially opening the store

M&S Simply Food at London Road Retail Park opened its doors for the first time today (Wednesday, November 26), with customers from all over Grantham taking in the delights of the new store.

A traditional ribbon cutting took place to mark the occasion with customers alongside store manager, Dean Law, and more than 55 new members of staff.

Following the official opening at 10am, shoppers were invited in-store to peruse up to 3,500 quality M&S food and drink products, including those from the recently launched Christmas collection and freshly baked pastries from the in-store Bakery.

Store Manager, Dean Law, said: “After working hard to prepare the store for its opening, we were thrilled to open our doors at London Road Retail Park this morning. There were crowds of shoppers at the opening, eager to see all that their new M&S Simply Food has to offer.

“We can’t wait for people from across Grantham and the surrounding area to come and see all the exciting products along with our in-store Bakery and 50-seat Café, which serves Fairtrade tea and coffee as well as sandwiches, cakes and a range of hot snacks.”

Mrs Bond, from Grantham Town Centre, was one of the first customers in the store today.

She said: “I have been really excited about the new store opening in Grantham and I’ve been looking forward to starting my Christmas shopping today.

“I have just moved from Stamford, which has a great M&S store so it’s brilliant that Grantham now has it’s very own store.”

The store also offers ‘Shop Your Way’, allowing customers to order either online or in-store from M&S’ full product range – including clothing – with free next day collection from store.

Customers will also be able to collect their Christmas food orders from the store between December 22 – 24 2014.

M&S Simply Food Grantham will be open between 8am and 8pm Monday –Saturday and 10am – 4pm on Sundays, with free parking available at the retail park.
