Police have arrested a 42-year-old man in connection with a report of a robbery where a cash-in-transit van cash box was stolen in Grantham town centre.
He has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in police custody where he will be interviewed by detectives.
If you were in the High Street or Finkin Street areas of Grantham between 1am and 2am this morning (Monday 25 March), please can you check dashcam or mobile phone footage to see if you may have captured the incident or people involved?
Police would also be keen to hear from those who may have seen a plume of smoke in any of the nearby areas, or from anyone who has any other information or witnessed the incident.
The robbery was reported to have taken place when the van was parked by Nationwide bank in High Street. The suspect is described as white, in his late 40’s, and 5ft 7ins tall. He was wearing all black, a balaclava, and carrying a bike chain or rope.
The man left in the direction of Finkin Street, and officers have worked with CCTV teams to attempt to track him.
The cash box did not containany money. Nobody was injured in the incident.
