Make sure you’re registered to vote

WITH just weeks to go before the publication of the annual electoral register SKDC is urging people to make sure they have returned their forms and are registered to vote.

Thousands of letters have gone out over the last three months asking residents to check if their correct information appears on the electoral register.

And canvassers have also been calling at homes across the district encouraging residents to fill in their Household Inquiry Forms.

Beverly Agass, Electoral Registration Officer, said the aim of the form is to ensure that the electoral register is up to date and to identify any residents who are not registered so that they can be encouraged to do so.

She said: “The message is if you have received a form about registering to vote make sure you respond to it. If you have made any changes to the form please ensure you complete the next step by going online to register at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote ”
