LINCOLNSHIRE SHOW – TIMES, TICKETS AND EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

June 14, 2019 Leave a Comment

IT’S JUNE, which means it’s almost time for the return of the Lincolnshire Show!

Back with a special theme of ‘Making Memories’ to mark a multitude of anniversaries in 2019 – including 150 years of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society – the Show is set to be the biggest and best celebration of Lincolnshire to date, but what are all the details?

When is the Lincolnshire Show?

Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 June. Doors open from 8am to 6pm on both days.

What is it?

The Lincolnshire Show, which attracts more than 60,000 visitors each year, is organised by the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, a registered charity whose aims are to educate about food, farming and the countryside.

The Lincolnshire Agricultural Society is marking its 150th anniversary this year. 2019 also marks the 135th Lincolnshire Show, and 60 years of the Show at the Lincolnshire Showground.

The two-day spectacular has a packed programme of events aimed at all ages including the return of the RAF Falcons aerial display team, a Dakota flypast, the Shetland Pony Grand National, and performances from the Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue band.

Guy Martin’s WWI Tank will be in the Aviation Zone and Lincoln City Club will be launching their new kit and displaying the trophy they were awarded when they were crowned League Two champions this season. Crowds will be able to take ten in multiple ‘chill out’ areas to enjoy the array of food and drink, as well as get involved with swing dancing and other activities around the Showground.

Foodies will be able to enjoy live cookery demonstrations in The Lincolnshire Kitchen from, among others, top local chef Steven Bennett. And sample plenty of delicious food and drink, including locally distilled gin, homemade fudge and famous Lincolnshire sausages.

What’s new for 2019?

‘The Martin Lewis Money Show’ is set to take a stall at the Show, offering the public the chance to meet the financial guru and ask him their burning financial queries. Over the years Martin has saved the nation millions of pounds with his frank advice on energy switching, credit card debt and savings.

New for 2019 is the Lincolnshire Lifestyle Marquee within in the Horticultural Zone, where visitors will be able to shop a wide range of products from independent regional crafters. Main Ring sponsors and luxury kitchen and handcrafted furniture designers Krantz Designs will be taking on the challenge of building its best kitchen to date, as well as entertaining visitors with a plush refreshment area complete with revolving gin bar.

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, a parade will take place in the Main Ring showcasing agricultural machinery through the ages up to modern day. Plus, local brewer Ferry Ales Brewery has handcrafted a unique Golden Ale especially for the Lincolnshire Showground. Named Harvest Gold, the beer features citrus flavours with a pleasant floral, herbal and earthy aroma and will be available to sample and buy during the Show.
