Lincolnshire NHS Trust shortlisted for Mental Health Trust of the Year for second consecutive year

November 16, 2021 by Grantham Matters Leave a Comment

The county’s NHS provider of mental health, learning disabilities and autism services, Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT), has been shortlisted in the Mental Health Trust of the Year category at the prestigious national Health Service Journal (HSJ) Awards. This is the second consecutive year that LPFT have been made a finalist.

These awards recognise outstanding contributions to healthcare and LPFT is just one of three finalists in this category. This national recognition commends the ongoing work of the Trust to strengthen the county’s mental health offer and support people to access high quality care as close to home as possible, in the least restrictive environment.

The nomination for this award drew on the ambitions, achievements and initiatives delivered by the Trust over the past year. The Trust has worked hard to develop its community mental health services and crisis and home treatment teams, helped introduce new 24/7 mental health helplines, enhanced services and resources for children and young people, implemented patient feedback, and fostered an equal and inclusive environment.

Sarah Connery, Chief Executive at LPFT, said:  “We are immensely proud of this recognition, which commends our fantastic Trust on a national scale, during a year in which the NHS and its workforce have again faced unprecedented pressure and demand.

“Being shortlisted for this award is also an opportunity to thank our staff and volunteers for their dedication and commitment to making a difference every day for service users, carers, families and colleagues. We couldn’t have achieved this without them.

“The way in which our staff have risen to these challenges and continued to provide excellent care whilst looking after one another along the way, is awe inspiring.”

Now in its 41st year, the HSJ Awards are the largest annual benchmarking and recognition programme for healthcare. Representatives from LPFT presented to a panel of judges as part of the judging process in September, including the views of staff, volunteers and governors in the presentation. The winners will be announced during the HSJ Awards ceremony, which will take place in London on Thursday 18th November 2021.
