Last week, Val Jack reported on GM how she had been left heartbroken and angry after visiting the grave of her 11-year-old son (above) at Barrowby’s burial ground.
Matthew Jack died of a rare cancer 28 years ago.
Over those years she had put things on his resting place only to have gone up at the beginning of December with his Christmas stuff to have found they havd all been removed by an official
She has since spoken to the official..
Here is Val’s latest report…
The long and short of it I can put a bit more around his headstone at Christmas , no way was I agreeing to that , he basically told me to be quiet so that he could speak.
He said he would have Matt’s slate taken off and grassed over , I said okay I will just take it off , he said that’s an offence I said phone the police he said “I will”.
In the end I walked away because he said why should be so different.
I said I don’t think I should be different but I have done it for 28 years , I told them I won’t stop I will take to number 10, he said ‘do it’.
They told me they had been sending me letters to the address to where Matthew died, my ask was why didn’t you go to the council or Facebook oh no , if you want someone that’s not hiding, you can find them on there .
Although the church graveyard is not their problem, as he said , you would think they would help with tidying that up first.
These pictures show how it looks.
