Greenwoods Row

September 14, 2017 by Grantham Matters 3 Comments

THE side of the Grantham Journal, looking through the archway to High Street, in 1957. The building opposite is Mr Wallace the dentists.

THE Journal as seen from what later became Greenwoods Row car park. The buildings were pulled down in 1957 to make way for Woolworths and a new Journal building.

My Grandparents lived in Greenwoods Row & when they died my Aunt lived there. I remember they had a hand pump in the kitchen for obtaining water & later stand pipes with taps were put in the yard at the rear of the houses..They also had had lighting.
