Solicitor Edward Neil Hamilton, passed peacefully at St. Barnabas Hospice, Grantham Hospital, on 28th June 2023 aged 86.
Mr Hamilton qualified in 1959 and was articled with his father’s firm. He worked in Cambridge before moving back to Grantham at the end of 1961.
He became a partner at Norton and Hamilton in St Peter’s Hill and became a specialist in all forms of civil litigation, including family law, employment, wills and probate, as well as company law. When he reached 65, Neil merged his company with Bird & Co, with whom he was still a consultant.
Mr Hamilton’s interests included cricket and playing bridge.
In his younger days he played cricket for Grantham, became club chairman and was later Chairman of Lincolnshire County Cricket Club from 1988 to 2008. He was then made an Honorary Life Member.
His funeral service will take place on Friday 28th July 2023 at St. Wulfram’s, Grantham at 11.30am.
