George Geeson (1913-2016)

George Geeson always lived in the South and North Witham area, finally settling in his bungalow in Water Lane, South Witham.

He was a vintage vehicle enthusiast, restoring more than 80 motorbikes in his lifetime. He got his driving licence in 1925.geeson-george

George was also an avid cigarette cards collector, a hobby he began as a child

He spent most of his working life as half of Geeson Brothers, a garage on the A1 he ran with his younger brother, Len.

After 33 years they sold the business and opened the Geeson Brothers Motorcycle Museum in a former South Witham chapel, where they restored and displayed vintage motorcycles, which closed in 2003 after 22 years.

He and Viola married in 1937 after meeting at a dance in Wymondham, and they were together more than 70 years.
