Iconic locomotive The Flying Scotsman is visiting Lincolnshire this weekend.

It will be steaming through the county on a return journey from London to Skegness as part of ‘The Jolly Fisherman’ tour.

Tomorrow, (Sat 25th)  it is scheduled  to leave King’s Cross at 7.17am, and the  first sighting in Lincolnshire will be at 10.05am, it passes  through Spaldingstation.

The locomotive will then arrive at Sleaford station at 10.31am and is expected to stay there for around 20 minutes while the service reverses.

The Flying Scotsman then passes through a number of places including Heckington at 11.01am, Hubberts Bridge at 11.15am and Boston at 11.23am.

The service then makes a brief stop in Wainfleet (12.01pm) before arriving at its destination of Skegness at 12.19pm.

The journey from London to Skegness and back is being managed by The Railway Touring Company, and passengers will spend around four hours in Skegness before making the return journey.

Its website says that as passengers stop in Skegness, “time will be available to visit the resorts many attractions, including the promenade, the clock tower and the Jolly Fisherman statue and fountain.”

Prices for the journey start from £110 for a junior passenger riding on a standard ticket, all the way up to £310 for an adult passenger on a premier ticket – which includes a full English breakfast and a four-course dinner served onboard.

After departing Skegness at 16.27pm, the service makes a brief stop in Wainfleet at 16.39pm.

A brief stop will then be made in Boston at 17.17pm, before the locomotive once again whizzes through a flurry of stations including Hubberts Bridge at 17.29pm, Heckington at 17.42pm, Sleaford at 17.51pm, Rauceby at 17.56pm and Ancaster at 18.01pm.

People in Grantham will then be able to catch a glimpse of the service as it makes a half-hour stop in the town, before it leaves Lincolnshire and heads back to London.
