Dog seized after Grantham boy required hospital treatment following attack

June 2, 2024 by Grantham Matters Leave a Comment

Police are appealing for information after a young boy was bitten by a dog in Grantham.

The incident is believed to have happened in the area of Tamar Court nearby to Clyde Court, Grantham, around 4.30pm on Saturday 1 June.

The dog, which is reported to be a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross, was being walked in the area by a young family member when it has bitten a teenage boy.

The victim was taken to hospital and is receiving medical treatment.  His injuries are not life threatening.

Two males, aged 14 and 32, have been arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury.  They have been interviewed and bailed while our inquiries are ongoing.

The dog was given to police by its owner and has been seized.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and can help with our inquiries. If you have any information, please contact the Investigating Officer by email at Ashley.tainton@lincs.police.uk. Please refer to incident 356 of 1 June.
