Mandata says
Later on in my driving career I switched from what was then HGV to PSV driving around the time of the very early eighties,
I worked for what was LRCC ( Lincs Road Car company) Jack Bradley was depot supervisor a real gent! Inspectors were Brian Shafto, Lewis Baldwin, Albert Sheldon, Les Robinson became driving instructor,.
We still had conductors and one that sticks in mind was Erma, she was not to be messed with and pity any school boy who stepped out of line on her bus. Back then it was a service that was run for the public, a good job, and some very happy memories meeting some very pleasant passengers, although not all were!!
Progress came with One man operated buses out went the half cabs Lodekkas ( like the one in the photo) and the old SCs and in came the VRs REs and Leyland nationals
The photo seen is prior to National bus days by the look of the bus which would have been painted in Tillings green.
Happy days indeed.
