November 8, 2014 by Grantham Matters 1 Comment

David Creeden (1942-2014)

Creeden, Dave

BORN at Southbourne, near Portsmouth, David John Creeden’s family came to live in Colsterworth when he was seven.

They moved to Grantham in 1951, where he attended the Boys National School before passing his 11+ for King’s School.

He joined East Midlands Electricity Board at the North House offices in 1957, and won a scholarship to go to Nottingham University five years later.

He became West Lincolnshire district manager based at Alma Park.

An avid sports fan, he was a keen supporter of the Gingerbreads despite moving to Bingham.  A collector of sports memorabilia, for many years he ran then club’s programme shop at their London Road ground.

He also enjoyed cricket and badminton.

Remember him! I take it he has gone bless him? cos of date brackets! Grantham Matters ought to do a death announcement!! Grantham journal do not on line although they keep telling me they do?( & I understand & respect families wishes) I only see months old obituaries? & that does not announce every body that has passed! Since I have been away I sometimes have not known who has died! for months & years sometimes! although in touch with some from Grantham not all knew who I knew so it just goes by! any how any thoughts on that Grantham matters! just an idea! mainly I must admit for Ex-Pats!
