Army Cadet Force Volunteer Drew Palmer wore his uniform to work today to join thousands of others marking Reserves Day (22 June) as part of part of Armed Forces Week.
Drew, a housing allocations officer with South Kesteven District Council, instructs cadets in the Bourne area, with thriving groups also in The Deepings, Grantham and Stamford.
It’s an opportunity for young people between 12 and 18 to find friendship, adventure and fun following a military-based syllabus including fieldcraft, adventure training, shooting, first aid, music and sports.
Cadets can gain Army Cadet Star Awards, IDEAL Awards, access to the Duke of Edinburgh Award, and no-cost vocational qualifications including BTEC Certificates and Diplomas and qualifications from the Institute of Leadership and Management through the Cadet Vocational Qualification Organisation.
