Coaching development bursaries

November 1, 2014 by Grantham Matters Leave a Comment

Coaches across Lincolnshire have the opportunity to apply for a coaching bursary to fund all of a National Governing Body coaching course.

Throughout November and December 2014, two new coaching bursaries will be available from Lincolnshire Sport.

The first available bursary is the Lincolnshire Sport Women’s & Girls’ Coach Development fund. This fund supports women and girls aged between 16 and 30 and provides them with the opportunity to get more involved with coaching and take a more prominent role in athlete development.

The second available fund is the Lincolnshire Sport Disability Coach Development fund. This fund also supports people with a disability aged 16 and over who want to get more involved with coaching and take a more prominent role in athlete development.

Both of these bursaries aim to help inspire the next generation of athletes and coaches.

The funding will cover 100% of a level 1 or level 2 equivalent coaching award, as well as ongoing support with coaching development plans and training needs analysis through the Lincolnshire Sport Coach & Instructor Network (CIN).

The coaching bursary, which is funded by the Sportivate programme, is open to all members of the Lincolnshire Coach and Instructor Network from November 1, 2014.

Coaches who are interested in the funding and who aren’t currently signed up to the Network can register by visiting www.lincolnshiresport.com/cin

Tom Armstrong, Workforce Development Manager, said: ‘These coaching bursaries enable coaches in Lincolnshire to gain a qualification to help them in their coaching journey. It is a great opportunity to reward and recognise our coaches, who work hard to create more active lifestyles.’

Deadline for applications is Friday, December 5.

For information contact Tom Armstrong from Lincolnshire Sport on 01522 585 580.
