Children called out of school to be told ‘The King is dead!’

MORE youngsters gather to hear the ‘King is Dead Proclamation by the Mayor, Ald William Goodliff in February 1952. Behind the Grange building was seed merchants Sharpe’s, later to become a pub. Marsden and Pearks were both provisions stores, the forerunners of supermarkets

    Nah thanks! he knows already! & he would “sus you strait away” Eyes-boy eyes! in the eyes! You only got one & it Bozzed! nah? let him get to know you first! then well! you could hint around it a bit! Be cool! but I would still be “smouldering” from , Look got me whittlin now! got stare in the sky hands clasped , @ a wizard up there ‘ Jeez you do get to me man! haha!
