Kesteven and Grantham Girls School U18 Water Polo team won bronze at the English Schools Association National Championship Finals!
Taking place in Liverpool, on 22nd March 2024, KGGS was the only state school in attendance – with no access to their own swimming pool in which to train. Plus the players had a delayed entry to the sport due to Covid – so to come third, in a national competition – is a huge achievement!
The team has been supported by volunteer coaches at Grantham Water Polo Club, training regularly at the Meres Leisure Centre.
The girls beat Alleyn’s School (Dulwich) and Highgate Public School (London) to claim the Bronze medal.
Big thank you to volunteer coaches Dave Lord and Adam Found who supported the team on the day, and to Fina Martinez & Gareth Chen-Rees for all of their help training & developing the squad.
