Mister2 says
It beggars belief that so many so-called professional drivers cannot understand that a 4.6m high vehicle will not fit under a 4.5m high bridge, although in this case it is clear the driver totally ignored the centre lane conveniently marked out for high vehicles to use. Has anyone calculated the true cost of these strikes? Apart from inspection and repair costs to the bridge there are lost wages through being late to work, delayed deliveries to local traders, reduced footfall from customers who can’t get to businesses. Not to mention taking our emergency services away from their more important roles. Whatever the punishment meted out to drivers and haulage firms, it is clearly not enough to act as a deterrent.
