A look back at the Thirties

30th May 1937 shows the Corpus Christi Parade coming from North Parade into church. Mr Wilsher is carrying the Cross and my brother is at back with flowers.
The houses on North parade have changed “a little” in the last 80 years. Spot the differences?  From Peter Reichelt

. St Marys R C Church Corpus Christi Celebration-Group photo taken 30 May 1937 at side of Church, now covered by the Church Extension. Father Leo Arendzen on RHS at back and Father Raymond O’Flynn on LHS.
My late brother, John is the small 6 year old with flowers standing 3rd from RHS on second row.
I remember an outside Altar on that grass area in the 1940/50’s.

    Notice all the ladies in their hats, a photo from a time when people dressed up for an occasion, men in suites and collar and tie, ladies in dresses, coats and hats. A proper way of doing things.
    Everyone today wants to be casual,
