
As spring blossoms into early summer, the historic Easton Walled Gardens is inviting residents of Grantham, Stamford, and the surrounding villages to step outside and experience the season’s magic.
Visitors to the garden are often looking to learn about horticulture, reconnect with nature through mindful movement, discover their inner artist, or simply enjoy a delicious evening out, so Ursula Cholmeley, owner of the gardens, has put together an early summer programme promises something truly special for everyone.
The enticing “What’s On” line-up for May and June:
Garden Tours (8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th May) Join the expert team and take in all the splendour of the early summer borders, wild meadows, and the beautiful vegetable and cut flower gardens. These guided walks offer a fascinating insight into the rich history and daily workings of the gardens. Details: All tours start at 2:00 PM. No booking is required, and normal garden admission applies.
Yoga in the Garden (9th May) Take a deep breath and unwind in nature with a relaxed somatic yoga session. Focussing on slow, mindful movement to ease tension, improve mobility, and restore balance to the body and mind, this class is free from the pressure to push or perform. The Art of Noticing (7th June) Led by talented botanical artist and illustrator Imogen Joyce, this immersive session begins with simple, guided meditation techniques focused on ‘the art of noticing’—helping you to slow down, tune into your senses, and become fully present in the beauty of the gardens. The afternoon then flows into a detailed drawing and watercolour session. Details: £60 per person (all materials provided). Pizza and Prosecco (11th June) Experience the romance of Easton Walled Gardens at golden hour. Enjoy a freshly cooked, wood-fired pizza and a chilled drink in The Courtyard, or bring a picnic blanket and head out onto the lawns.
