A familiar face has re-signed for the Gingerbreads this week in the shape of Andrew Wright
Paul Rawden has been busy this week and has secured the return of Andrew Wright following his recent release from Matlock Town.
Andrew needs no introduction to Gingerbreads supporters, following his loan spell in 2016/17, which he made permanent in the summer of 2017. ‘Wrighty’ went on to claim double figures in all competitions from midfield, as the Gingerbreads narrowly missed out on promotion to the National League North.
Andrew then repeated his goalscoring exploits the following season at Coalville Town, before moving back to the Northern Premier League with Matlock Town in the summer. However, his spell at the Gladiators has been cut short, with Paul Rawden acting swiftly to bring Andrew back to The Meres for a third spell.
A pleased Rawden commented, “I know what Andy is all about, and for someone relatively young, has bags of experience at this level. I also know the fans will be delighted to see him back in the black and white and scoring goals, as well as his energetic performances from the centre of the park”.
Welcome back Wrighty!
