Grassroots groups working in Lincolnshire will get much-needed grants worth £52,552.00 to help support local women and girls facing a range of challenges.
Lincolnshire projects will receive grants of between £5,000 – £10,000. This is the second time Lincolnshire Community Foundation has awarded groups money from the Tampon Tax Community Fund to help women and girls experiencing issues such as period poverty, domestic and sexual abuse and mental health.
Collectively as a network, UK Community Foundations is one of the UK’s largest grant-makers and was asked by government to distribute the largest share of the funding raised through the levy on sanitary products through its network of community foundations. A total of £6.9 million has been awarded nationally to grassroots groups in the two rounds of funding.

We know there is huge demand out there for these services and are proud to help small organisations working in our community to access vital public funding, which otherwise they may miss out on.”
Some of the projects being funded:
- Emerge Hub have received £10,000.00 towards salary costs for a Project Co-Ordinator to provide support to sex workers in Grimsby.
- Westcliffe Community Works have received £8,450.00 for a support group for women living in a deprived area delivered by well respected grassroots organisation in Scunthorpe.
- EDAN Lincs have received £6,992.00 towards a mentoring programme where volunteers receive in depth training to support victims of domestic abuse.
- Think2speak in Gainsborough have received £9,480.00 toward a self-awareness programme to build confidence and give vulnerable women a voice and to have it heard.
- Climb4 have received £10,000.00 towards a 40 week parent lead social action project, running a volunteer and training programme for women living in Cleethorpes, Immingham and Grimsby.
- Green Futures have received £7,630.00 to organise a group that brings women together to learn new skills and improve confidence and wellbeing in Laceby.
