Why work on Queensway was put on hold

Unhappy householders are getting fed up with the lack of progress on roadworks.

Work began in July but came to an an abrupt halt three weeks ago.

Today, a Lincolnshire County Council officer issued the following statement.

Karen Cassar, assistant director for highways, said: “When we originally removed the old surface from Queensway, we found a number of unexpected issues under the surface. As a result, we’ve had to redesign parts of the scheme.

“Works on-site have now re-commenced and are expected to be complete by mid-September, subject to weather.”
