My Grandparents Alf & Alice Howard used to run the Spread Eagle around 1963 – 1965 (going from my childhood memory) they the moved to the Sun inn Saxilby just outside Lincoln! My best memories of the Spread Eagle was my Grandad letting me have a cherry brandy on my birthday, I ended up falling from one of the bench seats in the snug bar & Gran telling Grandad off for giving me the drink! 😂 the she bought me an oyster ice cream from the ice cream van that had conveniently stopped outside 😂😂
