I remember going in with my late dad when he used to take his pigeon clock up to register his pigeons after the races to see who had the first pigeon home.We used to go in the main door and down a passage way into a sort of covered in area at the back of the pub.lovely memories.

I remember going past this pub on my way to and from Spittlegate School, My grandparents lived lower down on Commercial Road. The pub was demolished in 1969, when it was empty waiting to be pulled down I used to go inside the empty building to play and there was an old piano left inside (even through we were told to stay away from it!). I remember the pub when it had houses either side, the houses were demolished about a year before. Does anyone have any photos of the houses at the top of Commercial Road.
