Remember the strike well and all them London coppers trying to take over the Barley Mow.
It was 1984/85 though not 1983.
@Doodlydo: Trying??? They did take over the”Barley Mow”& much of the town! Very hard to do anything about it much! Check out the very sad stories of them in the town! & what it drove some of my friends to do! Schoolmates yes’ but still very sad! Billy Lush??? Then his brother? & very many other relationships they affected! Not good times at all! I came on here to send something different? Just read thro’ & saw this from @ Doodlydo! I am sure with his accuracy on here’ not often wrong! But Coppers from away honestly did take over many pubs in the day! & affected many many family’s lives! Not mine but knew many it did! & I was regular at the Barley Mow! & other Pubs they infected! Try having a bust-up with them that had never worked away from home & the power they held vs Local Police! who also involved bless them! Never//no win situation! & was not good! & I go on to send my original plan! Soz Doodlydo! not on here to be controversial! But You!!! HaHA kicked it off! X
Yer you are right Yoey. The TA’s could be rowdy at times but they were never as arrogant as them gits from the Met. Infected is about the the right word.
