Who enjoyed a pint in this Grantham pub?

March 28, 2025 Leave a Comment

The Oddfellows ,35 North Parade, closed in 1977, the last host being Rex Pulfrey. All our present pubs have been reconditioned and renovated, “modernised”, by the big breweries(hence their demise and the closure of many).
The Oddfellows was basically untouched and how a public house would have been, which in fact was a normal terraced house, quite small inside, just converted into a pub.It is a great pity that the homely atmosphere of this type of inn is now a thing of the past.
The only other pub named after a Friendly Society was the Foresters, 27 Castlegate closed in 1927
