
TAKEN in the 1958-59 season at the London Road football ground, Grantham, this is Ropsley FC receiving the Grantham League Knockout Cup.
They were receiving the trophy after beating Ancaster 3-1.

The wicket fence and roller in the background date it at about April, when the cricket club would fence off the wicket.
The picture shows Ropsley Captain Terry Baker receiving the cup and shaking hands with Lincs FA delegate Chucky Durrance, who ran Pawson’s plumbers in Westgate. Behind Mr Durrance is Mr Skeith. Below him is Ernie Pratt, both a Midland League referee and later Grantham League secretary.
Other players in the picture are ‘Pop’ Baker, Ivor Millsom, Geoff Corton, Mick Rasdall, Mike Bundy, Des Doubleday, Gordon Dove and Herbert Pacey.
There are also lots of Ropsley supporters.
