This looks like the prefects of that year. The prefects photograph was always taken on the Headmaster’s Lawn, with the Old School or the Headmaster’s Study windows as the back drop.

I agree it’s possibly the prefect line up for a given year but I am not sure that it’s about 1972. I was a First Former (year 7 today?) in 1972 and I think this is a few years later……possibly 74/75 ish. I think the guy fifth from the left, front row is Ken Raynor. And I can’t be sure but I want to say the one second from the left in the same row was called Floyd.
Lots of familiar faces but it’s been a long time and these guys were two or three years above me; you didn’t mix with them much, wasn’t the done thing.

It is the prefect line up for 1975/76 – I am standing up on the far right, behind the guy with trainers on. Apologies for any misspellings of the surnames, and to those I cannot remember but my memory says:
Standing – from Right to left:
Beacher
Bristow
Hawkins
Hodgson?
Whitely – His father taught French at Kings
Sheardown
Adams
Grieves
Radford
Bools?
Barratt
Tatum
Harrison
Clough
Wilson
Thorpe?
Sitting down from the right
Jenkinson?
Floyd
?
?
Raynor
Quinn
? His first name was Frank, I seem to recall
Chappell
Fenn
?
