Where in central Grantham was this? – The answer

August 21, 2018 by Grantham Matters 4 Comments

This building had a prominent site for well over a century. The first two picture were taken in about 1900 and the third one, about 110 years later.

It was on the corner of St Catherine’s Road and Dudley Road, built by Mr Martin, a local ironmonger in Victorian times.

Since then it became a children’s home and a nursery before demolition.  It is now the site of Martin Court.
