The Thinker says
Some will argue that it looked better back then, some will argue that it looks better today, me I think I liked it as it used to be. Somehow the garish bright signs of supermarkets and petrol out let’s dont do it for me. Come to think of it Grantham’ s a bit of a bloody mess, councils and the so called “enlightened ones” did a similar process in towns up and down the country in the 1960s, sweeping away the old that had stood as sentinels to our existence for generations only to replace it with high rise flats and Arndale shopping centres. They are now knocking them down, didn’t last long did they? The “New thinkers” must have got it wrong, and in some towns they are regretting it.
