Well we have a Rover on the left in white in the middle a boy racer Porch, the old reliable Saab in the front right, a couple of Fords and a VW.. Notice how they all have a look of their own a little bit of character you might say, whereas today’s cars look all the same, dull and boring and very expensive.
Back in the 70s and 80s you really did have some very good looking motors my favourite has always been the Capri followed by the Ford Zodiac Mk3 with the long bonnet and short boot, back in the 60s Alvin produced one of the finest Gentlemen’s Sporting Carrages in the guise of the Alvis TD21, don’t make them like that any more.
We had a extremely thriving motor industry in times gone by, you only have to look at all the old names of car makers but the government got involved and created BL
( British Leyland) bought up all the independents and shafted what was once the leader In automotive creative thinking….but that’s what governments in this country do, find something that works and makes a mess out of it.
You only have to look at the thinking of Lyons the head of Jaguar at the time of the creation of the E Type he said it would never catch on, today it is revered as one of the, if not the most beautiful cars ever made.

Addition to the above
Re the beauty of the E Type shame the same can’t be said of the poor old TR 7 made from bits of other cars in the BL stores bin.

Those were the days when a car could pass by and you would instantly know what it was. They are all the same these days!
