BJORLOWs tanneries thrived on Earlesfield Lane from the mid-1930s to the early 1970s when the suede-makers closed.
This picture was taken in about 1956, showing the childrens Christmas party at the United Reformed Church hall, George Street. Most companies in those days had a sports and welfare section and the annual childrens party was always an essential on the calendar.
Among the children is Maureen Bond, now Maureen Lorne, of East Avenue, Grantham, who brought in the picture.
She is the taller girl on the front row wearing a party hat. Her sister Patricia is next to her, also wearing a hat.
Also in the picture are the Rands sisters, Leslie, Kath Pam and Shirley.
On the back row, wearing a white collar is Venessa Hills and the lady at the back wearing a hat is Irene Dargue.
