Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT) is opening the voting stage of its summer elections this week for its Council of Governors following the nomination stage, which closed on 8 July 2024.
Nominations were held for eight public constituency seats, as well as a number of service user and carer seats.
Voting will open for Trust members between 21 August and 16 September 2024 for contested seats.
The Council of Governors helps to ensure that the Trust’s key stakeholders – including service users, carers, members of the public, staff, and partner organisations – have a say in shaping their local health services. This year, multiple candidates are in the running to fill the seat of Public Governor for the constituency of South Kesteven. Seeking your votes are Debbie Abrams OBE, Peter Bell, and Colin Braziel.
The rest of the public seats have been filled by uncontested nominees, with Emma Slack continuing her role as Public Governor for East Lindsey; Carole Hagan remaining as Public Governor for North Kesteven; Jonathan Sibley prevailing as Public Governor for South Holland; and David Docherty staying as Public Governor for West Lindsey.
Seats remain vacant for the Service User Carer Governor, Young People Carer Governor, and General Carer Governor positions, with the Trust hoping to fill these positions through its 2025 summer elections.
You must be a member of LPFT to stand and vote in elections. As a member, you will be able to work alongside the Trust and governors to help the needs of the community, provide your voice on how LPFT can improve local health services, and be able to apply for a range of discounts through Health Service Discounts.
