A Freedom of Information request has revealed that former SKDC Chief Executive Aiden Rave, attended at course, at council-tax payers expense, in the USA.
Mr Rave, who mysteriously quit in June last year after less than three years in office, was sent on the course in Boston, Mass, in October 2018, costing more than £5,000 for four days plus travel.
He flew out of Heathrow on October 27th and returned on November 1st .
The FoI request revealed the course, called “Future Visioning” cost £3,900 including accommodation. Flights cost a further £1,088.31.
SKDC paid for one additional night on the 27th October 2018 due to the time that the Heathrow to Boston flight arrived in the States. Cost of this was £269.00
He handed in his notice to quit his £97,000pa job the following May.
A statement issued by the council issued by the council at the time said: “The council is very grateful for all of Aidan’s hard work in helping to transform SKDC and wishes him every success for the future.”
Karen Bradford has been named as the next chief executive officer at South Kesteven District Council. She is expected to take over the post within the next few months.
